The following are a sample of past projects we have done.

Surname Report

Surname report prepared for descendants of the Lopes Perera/Pereira family of Italy for the Sephardic Right of Return citizenship through Spain. This report evaluated the genealogy of the family, provided a history of the surname’s appearance throughout the Sephardic world, and concluded whether the family was indeed eligible for Sephardic Right of Return citizenship through Spain. This report was also prepared with Portugal’s Sephardic Right of Return citizenship in mind, in case the family chose to apply through Portugal instead.

Kinship Affidavit

These selections come from an affidavit of due diligence prepared for the estate of a Holocaust survivor probated in Kings County Surrogates Court in New York City. In this specific case, the decedent made no mention of any familial heirs in his will. Under New York State law, an affidavit is required proving that no family member eligible is living because otherwise, the State/Executor(s) is/are legally obligated to contact them to inform them of their right to legally contest the will in court. As the decedent was a Holocaust survivor, a specialist was required to accurately document who was alive in his family prior to the Holocaust, their fates, and if anyone survived him to potentially contest his will.
